Natasha & Steve | Alton Mills Arts Centre Wedding

You might remember Natasha and Steve from their adorable Guelph engagement session. These two were married at the beautiful Alton Mills Arts Centre in Caledon, ON. The morning of the wedding, thunder storms and some serious rainfall threatened to move the wedding indoors. Luckily, Natasha and Steve stuck to their guns and decided to risk it and continue with the outdoor wedding. The result? Beautiful sunshine for their outdoor ceremony in the ruins for their Alton Mills wedding. Couples who are willing to risk getting a little wet on their wedding day are the best!

After a very personal ceremony officiated by Steve’s father, we explored the grounds together before heading inside for the reception and party! The many personal touches and cultural traditions made this wedding a very special one. Steve even had some of his extended family come in from South Africa for the event.

Natasha and Steve, it was so wonderful working with you. I had such an amazing time photographing your wedding! Congratulations to you both, and cheers to a long and happy life together.

Magic Forest | Styled Shoot

Where to begin on this one?! What an incredible experience this magic forest styled shoot was. Lydia from Summerlee Photography approached me a while ago to let me know about a few “creative shoots” she had scheduled in the Guelph area with some other wedding vendors. I won’t lie – I was super excited for this opportunity!

Alongside Lydia as another photographer, Sarah (thebirdspapaya) modelled, Sixpence Bridal Studio supplied the gowns, Blooms & Flora created a gorgeous bouquet, Painted White Studio supplied some incredible pieces, Scarlet & Alabaster provided some beautiful calligraphy work, and we even had a wedding planner there!

This was an amazing and inspiring team of women to work with. It’s really incredible what a few individuals can accomplish when combining their creative strengths.

We worked with some amazing light in a forest near Guelph Lake, and even experimented with smoke bombs!

Alberta – June 2016

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks ~John Muir.

All who know me know how much I love being in the mountains. It’s no surprise that upon receiving a “Save the Date” for my cousin Matt’s wedding in Alberta, I pretty much squealed in excitement! Any excuse to get out west is a great one, in my opinion, and a wedding between two wonderful people is at the top of the list. Not to mention the fact that I so rarely see my Mom’s side of the family, and she herself had never seen the Rockies in Summer!

From the incredible views at Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, to discovering a hidden section of Johnston Canyon that I had only ever seen in photos, cycling the great Legacy Trail between Canmore and Banff with the family, and sharing in Matt & Charlotte’s big day, this trip was incredible.

At this point, I don’t have my next plane ticket bought to visit Alberta or BC, but I’m sure it’ll happen soon. Here are a few of my favourites from the trip.

Guelph Arboretum Family Session

Ashley and Kevin had originally booked an Engagement session. When they asked if Kevin’s adorable daughter Paige could tag along for a Guelph Arboretum family session, I was all for it. Paige was such a sweetheart. Here are a few of my favourites from our time at the Guelph Arboretum.

Morgan | Essex County Child Photography

When I first met Morgan, she was an adorable (and incredibly shy) flower girl at Salina & Andrew’s wedding. Nearly a year later, this little peanut was a lot more open to being in front of the camera. We took a walk in the laneway behind her grandparents house, which was a gorgeous location. I absolutely love it when a client’s home doubles as an awesome location for a shoot!
