“The mountains are calling, and I must go” – John Muir
A few months ago, my friend Karley and I decided we wanted to take a trip to the west coast. Beyond the ever-present craving for fresh mountain air, we have so many friends from University to visit from Calgary to Victoria, and everywhere in between! When our friend Alex decided to tag along at the last minute, we knew it would definitely be a trip to remember.
Our first stop was Calgary. After a few nights exploring the city, we made our way to Banff and Lake Louise, where I got to visit with some family and a few of Karley’s friends came down from Edmonton to visit for the weekend.
An incredibly scenic drive through Kananaskis Country brought us back to Calgary, where we caught a flight out to Vancouver. From there, we took the ferry over to Vancouver Island, spending a couple days hiking and exploring in the rain forest. Next we headed to Whistler for a couple days of shredding… and the most powder I’ve ever seen.
The final leg of our trip brought us back to Vancouver, where we spent an incredible few days visiting friends and drinking delicious craft beers.
What an amazing trip to help get through the end of winter. Here’s hoping Spring is right around the corner 🙂
